On Ringses And Hobbitses

 The Ring must have found hobbits endlessly frustrating; they have no vision at all and less than zero ambition. Smeagol spends 500 years using it to surprise fish,  and once it escapes him Bilbo finds it and spends another 50 years using it to avoid awkward moments! They must be the most aggravating bearers a sapient evil artifact could possibly imagine.

This? This is awesome-moar, because it's a really cool insight. I'll add that the Ring might've thought that the other annoying hairy-foot had promise. After all, he was a manipulative little bastard, re: gaining and keeping Gollum's guidance. Tricksy indeed.

Frodo still spent ages doing nothing with it at all, but point :D
